About The Opportunity
To drive MiC’s next generation digitisation agenda we are now ready to
start the process of onshoring development to improve speed to market and
effectiveness.
This highly influential role will see you join the business as our first in
house Senior Developer (On site working with ad hoc remote working
possible). As our in house development expert you will have the
opportunity to guide the organisation through an exciting period of
transformation and change.
Your Purpose
- Help architect the roadmap that will drive digitisation across the MiC
customer experience - Understand and refine an existing complex bespoke CRM/applications/UI,
website/CMS - Develop new applications built to scale with a growing customer base
- Be the in-house development expert
- Work closely with 3 other senior developers around the world
- Over time build out a local team of development talent around you
- Support a “laboratory” approach to new development, using lean-agile
methodologies; act as the champion of the approach ensuring learning and
adoption of the methodology in the business
Your Capabilities
- Ruby on Rails
- AWS – Amazon EC2
- MySQL DB with Redis/Sidekiq
- QuickSight & Redshift an advantage
- Lean development methodology
- Continuous deployment
- Previous experience in managing digitisation and the development of
new products - Development project or team leadership looked upon favourably
- 5-10 years development experience

- Relishes the greenfield scale up opportunity that MiC presents
- Positive / can do, grounded and professional working attitude
- Intellectually curious, conceptual whilst pragmatic in execution,
great attention to detail - Strong communicator, comfortable when dealing with a range of internal
and external stakeholders - Previous experience or aspirations to eventually build and lead own
team of developers
