Terms of Service are governed by U.S. law

Hi,

I was just skimming through Terms of Service - Ruby Down Under and noticed this near the end:

Except to the extent applicable law, if any, provides otherwise, this Agreement, any access to or use of the Website will be governed by the laws of the state of California, U.S.A., …

Would it make more sense to use Melbourne here, or another Australian jurisdiction? Or is it safer to leave it alone rather than change it without a lawyer’s advice?

Thanks for raising this. You are right, it needs to be updated. Ruby Australia is a registered organisation in Victoria, and we comply by those rules.

@quintrino is that something committee can help to adjust text of the terms?
