[Job] Paid Outreachy internship with the OpenAustralia Foundation: 3 months, full-time, remote

Repost from roro group

Hi Rowers,

The OpenAustralia Foundation aims to transform our democracy by giving all Australians the tools they need to effect the change they want. We create simple technologies that encourage and enable people to participate directly in the political process on a local, community and national level. We’re old friends of RORO Sydney and recently Ruby Brisbane :). All our projects are Ruby and mostly Rails.

We’re running a paid, three month internship, May to August this year.

It’s through an international program called Outreachy that coordinates internships for newcomers from underrepresented backgrounds to get experience contributing to free and open source software projects by doing paid, full-time work. The internships are open internationally to women (cis and trans), trans men, and genderqueer people. We’re looking for people with Rails experience  It’s remote (like our team) and there’s a travel budget for you to come meet us (probably in Sydney).

If you’re interested in applying please checkout that post and email me (lu...@oaf.org.au) (see full email address on the original post).

Otherwise, if there’s anyone you know, or networks who would be interested, we’d really appreciate if you’d pass that on. It’s a new program in Australia so not many people know about it.

Thanks!

Luke
