About the position

Working closely with our internal and external Developers, you will play a pivotal role in providing effective applications support to our business (75% programming / 25% technical support).

  • Investigate and action support requests relating to site and services.
  • Write, code, test, analyse and maintain applications in line with user requirements.
  • Identify root problems, correct coding errors, troubleshoot, present solutions, implement changes, de-bug software and accurately document code.
  • Manage expectations and document case progress in Trello ticket management software.
  • Work with a small team (currently 3 developers) to make improvements based on user feedback/reoccurring issues.

Tech stack:

  • Older Ruby on Rails + MySQL monolith
  • Supported by microservices using combinations of Rails, Dry-RB, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  • JavaScript front-end code (mostly not React)
  • Supporting scripts in Ansible, Bash, and Ruby

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Min 1-2 years’ prior work experience in an IT related environment preferred.
  • Solution focused individual, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Eager to learn, attention to detail, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Strong customer centric focus, with excellent communication skills and an optimistic personality.
  • Knowledge of technologies like React, Ruby on Rails, dry-rb and Ansible an advantage.

Full-time, Monday to Friday position, during standard business hours at HQ in Cooma, NSW. Remote work may be available 1-2 days a week.
