About the Organisation
The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia’s independent expert regulator for the offshore petroleum industry.
We are establishing an in-house capability to build software solutions for the organisation. We are looking to maintain expertise and knowledge within the team for the long term and reduce our reliance on third party service providers. We have a number of key line of business applications are Ruby on Rails that provide robust long term support for our regulatory activities.
We have a pipeline of interesting development work including building new applications and extending and supporting the existing ones. We engage a highly regarded third party service providers to augment the team and provide specialist expertise for large projects and initiatives.
We use agile methodology, we are passionate about devops, UX, and software quality. Our applications are core line of business and are built to last and we empower our team to make key design and architectural decisions to maintain and evolve our systems to meet changing business needs.
About the Position
This Software Engineer position would suit someone with a few years experience in software development in an agile, automated environment, looking for a stable long term position. Ideally comfortable working closely with the team, and collaborating with and managing third party consultants and service providers.
Experience in any of the following tech and methodologies would be highly regarded - although not essential, you must be willing and able to pick these up quickly:
Ruby on Rails, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Ember JS, Linux, AWS, Terraform,
GoCD, Devops, Scrum (inceptions, retrospectives, pairing etc), Git, NewRelic, Slack, Trello.
The job is located in top quality offices in the Perth CBD. It is open to Australian citizens only.
