[Job] Senior Software Engineer at Zendesk (Melbourne)

[Job] Full time, Senior Software Engineer, Zendesk, Melbourne

We’re building out a team to improve the social media integration capability for our products and need a Senior Engineer to join us!

These integrations are used by the majority of our 100k+ customers, and need to be reliable, scalable, and robust. You’ll be working in a new team where you’ll be triaging distributed systems, debugging low-level dependencies and solving complex architectural problems. You’ll be working with high velocity, large scale data sets, that will be coming in from multiple sources (Channels) like Twitter, Facebook, etc. At times you’ll also have a system maintenance/sustaining focus across the Social Integration elements of the platform.

Perks include stock, flexible working hours, private health insurance, and 16 weeks gender neutral parental leave. We’re also big on personal growth, so you’ll develop your skills through pair programming, lunch and learns, hackathons, lab days to experiment with new ideas and a yearly training allowance too. In addition, you’ll be invited to take part in company-sponsored volunteer initiatives.

Zendesk was started in a Copenhagen loft by three friends who used an old kitchen door as a desk. They wanted to bring a bit of zen to the chaotic world of customer support, and they wanted to do it with software that was nice to look at and easy to use.

Today, Zendesk is a customer service platform with over 100,000 customers and designed for companies that want to create customer relationships that are more meaningful, personal, and productive. We have 15 offices globally and over 1700 staff (and growing!).

Come check out our offices if you attend the Ruby and Rails Meetups in Melbourne. There’s normally Zendesk employees around if you want to ask us anything Zendesk related, or feel free to email me at cfairchild@zendesk.com for recruitment related stuff!
