[Job] Full-time Ruby/Rails/Polyglot mid-senior dev positions

Repost for David Parry:

The Company

Siteminder provides hotel booking systems for the travel industry that book millions of rooms per month. We integrate with a wide variety of internal and external systems, so we use a wide range of technologies and techniques.

We’ve been around for over 10 years, but currently undergoing an expansion and unification of our systems, services and look and feel.

We are also working hard to make Siteminder more well-known as a place of development excellence.

Part of this year’s plan for improving our profile in the dev community involves:

  • Sending our devs to relevant conferences: there will be a bunch of us at RubyConf this week. Come and talk to us! Either myself or Chris Herring would love to hear from you.

  • Implementing constant learning initiatives in-house so that our team are skilled up and furthering their careers.

  • Increasing our exposure at meet-ups and conferences by actively sharing skills, talks, sponsorships.
    The Job

We have several products (The Booking Button, Little Hotelier) that make use of Ruby and Rails, and these teams are looking to add senior developers.

Skills we’re looking for:

  • Ruby
  • Rails
  • React/Flux architecture and/or Vue.js
  • Strong in refactoring
  • Disciplined approach to Git
  • Familiarity with devops and all its glorious opportunities and pitfalls.
  • Docker
  • AWS
  • Experience with transmogrifying a mighty-monolith into micro-services.
  • A desire to automate all of the things.
  • Performance tuning/testing
  • Great familiarity with the command line.

The position is full-time and located in our offices in The Rocks, Sydney. We do some remote work & work-from-home sessions to fit in with people’s lives, but we like to work as a close-knit team.

Pay is at market rates for given experience level.
These positions tend towards Mid to Senior.
