About the company

We’re a company based in Melbourne launching an online marketplace selling manufacturers products that we deliver directly to Australian consumers in 2020 (D2C/distribution/tech play). We have located a market gap in a highly competitive market currently unfulfilled.

Our team consists of highly motivated individuals from finance (venture capital, investments, capital raising, modeling, etc.), business management (value proposition, business model, product-market fit, etc.), sales, branding, and marketing (social media, content creation, etc.).

About the position

We’re seeking a talented full-stack ruby developer with Shopify knowledge and/or experience who can assist us in creating an amazing experience for our consumers.

We’re aiming to combine existing integrations (API’s for 3rd parties) and apps already developed by the Shopify community and have coding/customizations made when, and if, needed.

We have completed an alpha test with significant success and now it’s time to shape the platform by lessons learned / customer discovery for beta testing through to the official launch.

We’re looking for an individual who can think laterally, who can advise on best practice UX, who can contribute with creative ideas, who is a self-starter thriving in ideation/execution and lastly, match our dedicated hardworking team.

We offer equity based on performance, engagement and milestone completion and pay a salary once the business is proven financially viable. We understand that we are asking someone to grab an opportunity and invest time (potentially on top of a full-time job) but you will not be alone as every member of the co-founding team operates on the same premises.

We’re excited to find someone who wants to succeed with us in this project (and many more) who share our core beliefs;

  • We value people over money,
  • We give parts of company profits to charity
  • We focus on solutions - not problems, and;
  • We want to have fun building profitable companies.

We are launching several verticals/product categories in our business over the next 6-18 months with this marketplace to serve as a foundation for them all. If this appeals to you we would like to have a face-to-face in Melbourne - coffee or tea is on us!

In adding above list,

  • Choice of Application: Before starting the development or process of choosing the platform for the application, it is important to understand the nature of application and what business need will it serve. Key areas to think up on are focused audience, geography, innovativeness, and timeline.
  • Focused Audience: The simple reason why target audience of the client’s demographic region is important to know because it helps in understanding the comfort level of the users with the technology and platforms that they are use to. It helps developers to be more equipped with the right solutions that offer right solution.
  • Innovativeness: If the native users are more use to the Java or desktop applications then in order transform their experience, single page app based structure can be created with front-end based JS.
  • Timeline: For every developer as well as client, the timeline is one of the important factors as faster time to market prime aspect. Choose the RoR platform to deliver faster than the timeline.
